Hearty Beef & Veggie Stew

This hearty beef stew is a cold-weather classic—warm, filling, and easy to prep ahead. It simmers low and slow while you go about your day, and comes together with simple, allergy-friendly ingredients. We use a gluten-free flour blend when needed and always double-check our Worcestershire sauce for safety. Serve it with warm bread or crackers for a no-stress dinner that feels like a hug in a bowl.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb stew meat

  • 2 potatoes, diced

  • 4 carrots, diced

  • 3 Stalks Celery, chopped

  • 1 onion, diced

  • 1 cup peas

  • 4 cups beef broth (or safe alternative)

  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free blend if needed)

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (check for allergens)

  • 1 bay leaf

  • ½ tsp minced garlic

  • ½ tsp paprika

Instructions

Coat the meat

In a small bowl, mix flour and salt. Toss stew meat in the mixture until evenly coated.

Load the slow cooker

Add coated meat to the crock pot. Add potatoes, carrots, celery, onion, broth, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, bay leaf, garlic, and paprika.

Cook

Cover and cook on LOW for 10 hours, or until meat and vegetables are tender.

Add peas

About 30 minutes to 1 hour before serving

Serve
